Long Version:
At the moment, I am working a full time job and baking on the weekends, but not every weekend. That means my bakes are available when I have the time and energy to bake them.
In order to focus on the baking part and not the “how to organize orders” part, I’ve put a few processes in place so that you can get baked goods into your hands easily and I can maintain some sense of organization when it comes to getting them to you.
I’ve chosen HotPlate as my platform for a few reasons.
- Everything is by text message. You can sign up for a text alert when I open up pre-orders. When you order, you get a text confirmation. Pick up reminders are automatically sent to you.
- You can preorder from a set list of products every time I post a drop. I only list what is available from the planned menu from that drop and you can’t accidently buy something that I’ve already sold to someone else.
- HotPlate takes care of all the payment processing through Link.com which is built by Stripe, a secure payment portal. It protects you and me.
What’s a Bake Drop?
A bake drop is a preorder sale that is only available for short time and has limited inventory. When you sign up through HotPlate, you will get a text notification when preorders are open. All the information on location and pick up times are available in the Drop info.
How do I know when a Drop is Live?
Here is a link to my HotPlate Storefront where you can sign up for text alerts.
Not into text alerts yet? That’s ok. You can get an email instead.
